Tyrone Mings has praised ex-Aston Villa star Conor Hourihane on Instagram after he was named in League One’s Team of the Season.
The Derby County midfielder is used to play-off matches in his career, after helping Aston Villa earn promotion to the Premier League, well he might have to go down a similar road with the Rams.
Ironically enough, it was Conor Hourihane and Villa that beat Derby in the 2018 Championship play-off final, which started the team’s decline, including relegation last season.

But, under the stewardship of Paul Warne, the East Midlands side are trying to make their way back up. They currently hold the final play-off spot in League One.
Nonetheless, when Hourihane was named in the Team of the Season, he expressed his delight on his IG, with many of his former teammates bigging him up in the comments section.
Tyrone Mings wrote: ‘What a man. Congrats mate’, whilst Anwar El Ghazi added: ‘Congratulations, bro’, with John Terry, Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash also sending their congratulations.
HOURIHANE A CROWD FAVOURITE AT VILLA
The 32-year-old was part of the Villa team that lost the play-off final to Fulham, and then, he was part of the same team that got promoted under Dean Smith 12 months later.
From his long-range banger against West Brom in the semi-finals, to his penalty in the second leg, then his ball out wide that led to the opening goal in the final at Wembley.
Hourihane will always be remembered in a fond manner by the Villa fans and a player who is now looking to add a third play-off win on his CV, after previously achieving it with Barnsley.
