Tyrese Haliburton has spoken about Myles Turner’s departure from the Indiana Pacers and his move to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Indiana didn’t go into this summer expecting big changes. After reaching the NBA Finals, most fans thought the team would stay together.

But that’s not how things played out. One of the bigger surprises in free agency was Turner leaving for Milwaukee.

It later came out that a contract dispute with Indiana opened the door for Milwaukee to step in.

Turner has hinted at some tension with his former team, and now Haliburton has shared his own thoughts on the situation.

Haliburton appeared on the Self-Made YouTube channel recently, where much of the conversation focused on his passion for WWE. But the topic of Myles Turner’s move did come up.

Asked by a fan about his thoughts on Turner leaving, Haliburton had only good things to say. He wished his former teammate well, even if he wasn’t thrilled about him joining the Bucks.

“Good question. I’m happy for the man. The thing about the NBA is, there’s only so many of us. You want to see dudes get paid, you want to see dudes be able to take care of their families.

“He’s able to do that. He’s a guy I got to play alongside for a long time, and we grew a great relationship. Obviously, seeing him go to Milwaukee, I don’t like to see that. I don’t want to see him in Milwaukee.

Despite his positive words, Haliburton did mention that fans can expect an intense matchup when Indiana face Milwaukee next season.

“There will be smoke when we see them”, says Haliburton about Pacers-Bucks rivalry

Haliburton went on to say that Turner’s move has only turned up the heat on the rivalry between Indiana and Milwaukee.

“It is what it is, and there will be smoke when we see them, like there would be anyway. Basketball is a competition, but it is still love.

“I had a Tweet queued up when he left… I was about to tweet that with Milwaukee, but I was like ‘nah…’ You know how it is, I’m just going to leave it alone. Good for him, wish him the best.”

Turner’s addition certainly strengthens the Bucks. While there are questions about how he’ll fit alongside Giannis, his skillset adds plenty of value.

The numbers show that Haliburton’s arrival in Indiana had a positive impact on Turner’s game. The two developed strong chemistry over their time together.

The Bucks also don’t have anyone who can match Haliburton’s playmaking ability, especially after they let Damian Lillard go to bring Turner in.

While the next meeting between these teams promises plenty of intensity on the court, off it there seems to be no bad blood between Turner and Haliburton.
