Tyler Roberts tempted by Leeds United move, but completing deal would surely see them miss out on Jack Marriott

Leeds United will surely have to pick between signing Tyler Roberts or Jack Marriott.

According to a report on the Daily Mail, Tyler Roberts is tempted by a move to Leeds United, following a rejected offer from West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies have turned down Leeds’ £4 million approach for the striker, who is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in their academy.

Roberts would be keen to explore the possibility of moving to Elland Road, but Leeds must now seriously consider whether bringing the 19-year-old would be worthwhile right now.

Leeds will surely have to pick between Roberts or Jack Marriott, as they search for a striker this month.

With Roberts costing over £4 million, and Peterborough United demanding at least £6 million for Marriott, according to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, Leeds are highly unlikely to be able to afford both.

And it may be up to Thomas Christiansen and Victor Orta to decide which one of the forwards would be more valuable to Leeds’ promotion bid right now.

Roberts is the younger of the pair, but Marriott as scored far more prolifically this season.

Roberts has five goals in 16 appearances for Walsall at League One level, while Marriott has 18 goals already. And it may be that Marriott has more immediate use at Leeds than Roberts at this moment in time.
