Tyler Roberts has stated on Twitter that it was a ‘great feeling’ to make a return to action for Leeds United as he helped the U23’s to a comfortable 6-0 win over Watford on Monday night.

Roberts has been out of action since the start of the season for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, but after the break, he was brought into the fold as he converted from the penalty spot.

It was a pretty comprehensive win for Leeds United’s U23’s in the Professional Development League, with Luke Ayling also making a return as Eddie Nketiah netted a brace following his heroics on Sunday.

Nonetheless, Roberts sent this message from his personal Twitter account to the Whites fans, who will no doubt be delighted with his return.

Over the weekend, Leeds moved back to the top of the Championship table when they recorded a deserved three points against Barnsley at Oakwell.

Leeds have a chance to maintain, and potentially, open up a gap at the top of the table, but they will need to be at their ruthless best in these coming weeks if that is to happen.

Roberts returning will only help matters because he was one of Bielsa’s better players last term, but he will no doubt want to kick on and showcase that he can take his game to another level.

On Saturday, Leeds will face out-of-form Derby County, who beat them in the play-off semi-final last season, with the Rams now managed by Phillip Cocu, who replaced Frank Lampard in the summer.
