The 20-year-old produced a bit of cup magic to send the Championship side through to the next round of the competition.

Before Luton’s cup tie with Leeds United on Tuesday, the Hatters may well have looked at Whites defender Tyler Denton as someone to target if they hoped to cause an upset, given that the 20-year-old was making his first-team debut.
And while they would have been right in thinking that the 20-year-old’s performance would have a major say in the overall result, it is unlikely that they would have anticipated the contribution he would end up making.

It was the academy graduate who settled the contest as his stunning strike with the outside of his left foot found the top corner in the 23rd minute at Kenilworth Road.
And while few would have seen Denton’s goal coming, the idea of a young full-back establishing himself with a stunning goal in the second-round of the League Cup is not something that has not been seen before by the Leeds supporters.
Back in 2012, then manager Neil Warnock handed another academy graduate, Sam Byram his first-team chance. And after impressing in pre-season and the first few games of the campaign, the right-back made everyone sit up and take notice with a sensational goal against Oxford United in the cup.

After his first touch took him past his marker, Byram then flicked the ball past a second defender who had committed to a challenge before showing the composure of a top striker by deliciously lifting the ball over the goalkeeper.
The strike confirmed that Byram – who is now playing in the Premier League with West Ham – was one to look out for, and Denton has surely sent a similar message with his goal.
