Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United both picked up much-needed wins over the weekend.

Pundit Jamie Redknapp has offered his team of the week to the Daily Mail, with two West Ham stars joining two Tottenham players in the side.

Redknapp’s side kicks off with Ederson in goal, as the Manchester City stopped helped his side to a 2-1 win at Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, with the Brazilian pulling off a miraculous double save to prevent both Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata.

After shutting out Chelsea in a superb 1-0 win at the London Stadium, two West Ham defenders made the cut, with Arthur Masuaku at left back – despite playing in a more advanced role against Chelsea – and Winston Reid at centre back.

The pair were instrumental in West Ham’s surprise win, and they were joined by two more defenders who kept clean sheets over the weekend in Burnley’s James Tarkowski and Huddersfield Town’s Tommy Smith.

Son Heung-min was one of two Tottenham players included in the side, which was no surprise given that the South Korean wide man notched a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 5-1 win over Stoke City, joining Manchester City’s David Silva and Demarai Gray in Redknapp’s midfield.

Spurs teammate Harry Kane joined Son in the side after his brace against Stoke, with Jermain Defoe and Mohamed Salah also featuring in Redknapp’s attack, with the front line notching five goals between them this weekend.

Whilst league leaders Manchester City will dominate the headlines having made it 14 straight Premier League wins with their 2-1 victory over local rivals Manchester United, but Spurs and West Ham had important weekends too, as recognised by Redknapp.

West Ham finally picked up their first win under new manager David Moyes, whilst Spurs ended a run of four league games without a win by hammering Stoke – and with midweek fixtures to come, the two London clubs will be hoping to build on their weekend wins ahead of the festive period.
