The January transfer window is already proving to be a highly successful one for Everton Football Club.

The conclusion Evertonians have taken from the latest transfer window is simple: Ronald Koeman is ruthless.

And how refreshing after years of Roberto Martinez’s time in charge, to have a manger who is so cut throat in his assessments.

January was as much about selling ‘dead wood’ as it was buying players who will help the club progress into the top 6.

In came Morgan Schneiderlin, Ademola Lookman and Anton Donkor (loan), whilst leaving the club was Darron Gibson and Bryan Oviedo (both to Sunderland permanently), and Cleverley (Watford), Deulofeu (AC Milan) and Niasse (Hull City) departed on loan.

It was certainly a successful window.

Schneiderlin did not come cheap but has settled in to life very quickly, and should prove to be a superb signing for the Toffees.

He was particularly impressive in Everton’s latest game at the Riverside and now completes an impressive midfield trio with Idrissa Gueye and Tom Davies.

Ronald Koeman has already hailed Ademola Lookman, as he explained to the official Everton website, as the “future of the club.”

Lookman’s Everton career got off to a bang. He scored the final goal in Everton’s 4-0 demolishing of Manchester City.

He can certainly be guilty of over playing and is sometimes selfish in front of goal.

However, his big money fee at the age 19 speaks volumes about his potential.

In general, the players coming in look to be offering plenty more than the ones they replaced in January.
