According to The Telegraph and The Independent, Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Matt Doherty.
The Telegraph note that Wolves already have a replacement in mind, with Valencia full back Thierry Correia wanted at Molineux.
That report states that Doherty is likely to head to Spurs for £15million, with the money being reinvested in Correia.
The Independent suggest that Spurs are ‘closing in’ on Doherty, and whilst Wolves want £20million, Spurs want to pay a lower price and insert add-ons into the move.
Doherty, 28, has been with Wolves for 10 years now having joined from Bohemians in 2010, and now has more than 300 appearances for the club to his name.
The Irishman has notched eight goals and 11 assists in two Premier League seasons for Wolves, emerging as one of the Premier League’s most creative full backs.

Doherty does play as more of a wing back for Wolves, and will now likely have to play in a back four for Tottenham.
Meanwhile, Portuguese talent Correia joined Valencia from Sporting last summer, and played four La Liga games last season.
The 21-year-old has real pace and ability on the ball, and could now join the strong Portuguese contingent at Molineux as Wolves look to replace Doherty with a younger model.
