West Bromwich Albion lost 4-1 to Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
West Bromwich Albion were pushed closer to Premier League relegation on Saturday afternoon as they were beaten 4-1 by Leicester City at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies – and beleaguered boss Alan Pardew – were in desperate need of a result to try and climb towards safety, and made the perfect start when Salomon Rondon finished Oliver Burke’s cross for an early opener.
However, that’s as good as it got for Pardew and co, as Jamie Vardy equalised with an exquisite volley from Riyad Mahrez’s pass, before Mahrez himself made it 2-1 to the Foxes.
Claude Puel’s men tightened their grip on the game with a goal from Kelechi Iheanacho, and midfielder Victor Iborra rounded off the scoring with a thumping header, sealing a 4-1 victory.
West Brom remain eight points adrift of safety and look doomed, having only managed three wins all season, and they effectively need at least three wins in the final eight games of the season to stand a chance.
Manager Pardew may only have been appointed as Tony Pulis’ replacement back in November, but fans are calling for his sacking to give West Brom some sort of hope in their battle against the drop.
Throughout the game, Pardew cut a frustrated and disconsolate figure on the touchline, as seen with the images above and below, as the Baggies boss was left to reflect on another defeat and another poor performance – which could yet prove to be his final game in charge of the club.
