Newcastle United certainly have a cluster of exciting youngsters currently pushing for a chance in the Magpies’ first-team at St James’ Park.
With that in mind, here is a look at two of the prospects still awaiting their debuts that perhaps deserve to be considered by Rafa Benitez in the near future…
Dan Barlaser
Dan Barlaser has been included on Newcastle’s bench on a few occasions, but is still yet to make his debut for the club. Peter Beardsley recently suggested that a number of the youngsters would be ready for Benitez’s call if it came (via Chronicle), and Barlaser is surely one of the players he would have been referring to.
Having more options in the middle of the park is surely something Benitez will want to think about this summer, and perhaps Barlaser can help provide some additional depth.

Sean Longstaff
Sean Longstaff will certainly not feature this season, having moved to Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock on loan. He has impressed in his eight top flight appearances for Killie, scoring twice and contributing two assists.
The opportunity to play first-team football will have surely boosted his chances of making an impact for the Magpies upon his return.
