Arsenal face a big year as 2015 draws in.
The year is nearly over for Arsenal and it’s been a fairly decent 2014 for Gunners everywhere.
Arsene Wenger guided the club to a first piece of silverware since 2005 when they won the FA Cup and he spent plenty of cash last summer with deals for Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, Danny Welbeck from Manchester United and Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United. The list could go on and on.
It’s going to be an even more significant 2015 for Arsenal, considering the pressure Wenger has been under over the last few weeks. So what should his main New Year resolutions be?
A New Defender and Holding Midfielder
The current squad could use players in two key positions and it’s up to Arsenal to get the cheque book out and get the deal done.
A new centre back will help the balance of the back four, while a new holding midfielder will inject bite and authority into the middle of the team, which has been needed for the last couple of years.
Silverware
The FA Cup looks like a good bet for the Gunners though Wenger will be cautiously optimistic of winning his first Champions League title.
Any silverware will be well received by Arsenal fans and it will further take the pressure off of the boss, painting him in a positive light.
