Souleymane Doukara was the pick of the Leeds players against Norwich.
Leeds United took on Norwich City at Elland Road last night with a place in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on the line.
The game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, 2-2 after extra time, with Leeds winning a dramatic penalty shootout.
Two Leeds players particularly disappointed during the tie, with one particularly impressing.
Matt Grimes
On loan midfielder Matt Grimes has struggled to adapt with the same speed as Swansea teammate Kyle Bartley, and has found his first team chances at Leeds limited.
Leeds United’s Matt Grimes looks dejected
The England under-21 international has not started a league game since the opening day of the season, and has had to make do with sporadic opportunities since.
Last night he got one, but did little to make himself stand out, and struggled against Norwich’s more experienced midfield.
His missed penalty in the shoot out will do little to help his cause.
Alex Mowatt
Two years ago Alex Mowatt was one of Leeds’ most promising young talents, but for the second successive season he appears to be struggling to recapture his form.

His usual keen eye for goal deserted him when gifted with a clear cut chance from close range, when he somehow contrived to hook the ball over the bar.
The chance came with the game locked at 1-1, and a goal would have put his side in a strong position to progress without the need for extra-time. Better required.
Souleymane Doukara
A forgotten man for much of the season, Souleymane Doukara has not had the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution.
Leeds United’s Souleymane Doukara
A back-up striker, he demonstrated against Norwich that he can have a role to play if given more chances.
Doukara was Leeds’ brightest player during normal time, and earned applause when he was substituted.
With a long Championship season ahead, Doukara may have earned himself a more prominent role in the weeks to come.
