West Ham United are preparing for an EFL Cup clash against the Championship club.

West Ham United have some of the best young players in the country coming through their ranks, not that neutrals would know that based on Slaven Bilic’s team selections.

Football managers are not going to put their faith in youth when they are struggling at the wrong end of the table. However the upcoming EFL Cup match against Bolton Wanderers could ensure that two of the club’s bright young things at least get a place on the bench.

Here we take a look at two West Ham youngsters who should be in Tuesday’s match day squad:

Domingos Quina

Still only 17, Domingos Quina is an outstanding talent and he will be hoping to build on his two-minute cameo against Cheltenham Town in the previous round.

The Portuguese teenager is unlikely to start given the importance of the tie to Bilic’s future at the London Stadium but, if things go according to plan, it would be great to see him get more of a run-out in the second half.

Toni Martinez

Spanish forward Toni Martinez has continued where he left off last season, continuing to impress for West Ham’s under-23s, but that first appearance for the senior side is still passing him by.

The arrival of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic has not helped in that regard, yet surely the 20-year-old deserves to make the match day squad against the Trotters, even if he only comes on in the dying moments for his long-awaited debut.
