Goals from Brentford’s Josh Clarke and Romaine Sawyers gave the visitors a 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers, and their first win at Loftus Road for 52 years.

Despite having 51% of the game’s possession, QPR were unable to forge too many opportunities to overcome an energetic and high-tempo Brentford side.

Idrissa Sylla came closest to scoring for the Hoops, but his headed attempt towards goal was cleared by Brentford’s John Egan.

Aside from Sylla, Tjaronn Chery and Conor Washington looked like being the only other QPR routes back into the contest, but their efforts in the second half were ultimately fruitless.

The defeat sees Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side positioned 13th in the Championship, with only one win from QPR’s last seven matches at their Loftus Road home.

QPR’s supporters greeted the result with boos and jeers as the final whistle sounded; signalling their disappointment with a performance that could have seen Brentford score more than twice – especially in the first half where Scott Logan and Sawyers could have found themselves on the scoresheet.
