Manchester City are firmly the Premier League pacesetters after a hard-fought 3-1 win over Swansea City continued their 100% start to the season and made it two wins in the space of three days over The Swans.

Sergio Aguero was at the double after returning from suspension to make it six wins from six in the league and 10 wins out of 10 for Pep Guardiola.

But they didn’t have it all their own way as Swansea threatened a scare with Fernando Llorente scoring his first goal for the club since his summer switch from Sevilla to cancel out Aguero’s early opener in the first half.

In the second half City had the chance to retake the lead after the hour mark when Mike van der Hoorn was alleged to have fouled Kevin de Bruyne in the box.

Aguero made no mistake from the penalty spot and Raheem Sterling continued his flying start under Guardiola by making it three and putting City four points clear at the top of the table with the visitors looking unbeatable at present.

In contrast, Swansea may have dug deep but they’re still searching for their first league win since the opening day and the pressure on Francesco Guidolin will continue to mount with rumours his job is under threat at the Liberty Stadium.
