Everton’s Kieran Dowell was in action on Thursday night.

England’s senior side claimed a thumping win over the Czech Republic on Friday night, just 24 hours after a tricky evening for the Under-21’s.
Aidy Boothroyd’s youngsters were in action on Thursday night, hosting their Polish counterparts at Bristol City’s Ashton Gate stadium.
England will have expected to win, especially after Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring on just 13 minutes, but Poland proved tricky customers.
Sebastian Szymanski equalised before the break, and 1-1 is how it stayed as England couldn’t get back in front, but they did at least extend their unbeaten run to 16 games.
Whilst Calvert-Lewin impressed with his goal, another Everton player caught the eye, as midfielder Kieran Dowell starred in the England midfield.
Dowell, 21, was a number 10 at Everton but recently played at left wing back on loan for Sheffield United, and was deployed in another new position for England U21’s.

Dowell sat in a holding midfield role behind James Maddison and Phil Foden in an exciting midfield, though some were surprised to see Dowell in such a reserved role.
However, Dowell excelled thanks to his ability on the ball, with fans taking to Twitter to praise him as a ‘baller’ and ‘different class’, whilst claiming he was ‘running the show’ and should have a big future at Everton.
