The former Aston Villa winger becomes Neil Warnock’s fourth free transfer of the week.
Cardiff City have announced the signing of free agent Kieran Richardson on a deal until January.
The former Aston Villa midfielder left Villa Park at the end of the season and becomes new Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock’s fourth signing of the week.
Richardson, who can play at left wing or left back, joins Sol Bamba, Marouane Chamakh and Junior Hoilett at the Cardiff City stadium, but reaction to his arrival has been mixed following an underwhelming spell at Villa which resulted in the club’s relegation to the Championship.
The former England international and one-time Manchester United prodigy has never set the Premier League alight with stints at West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland and Fulham, but Warnock clearly thinks the 31-year-old is a great signing for Cardiff who are languishing second-from-bottom in the Championship.
However, Twitter’s response was split down the middle with not everyone believing Richardson to be a smart acquisition in South Wales while others were in agreement with Warnock.
