Sunderland have taken one step closer towards relegation after losing 3-0 to Manchester United at the Stadium of Lights on Sunday afternoon.
The Black Cats started the match sitting rock bottom in the Premier League and following this defeat they need a miracle to pull them out from the mire.
United made several changes in their starting lineup, with Jose Mourinho focussing more on the crucial Europa League tie in the midweek.
It was a glorious opportunity for David Moyes and his team to put up a strong fight and take themselves closer to safety. However, it turned out to be an embarrassing performance from the Black Cats, who have now lost six of their last seven Premier League games.
The visitors enjoyed a lion share of possession throughout the match, and broke the deadlock through Zlatan Ibrahimovic who scored his 17th Premier League goal of the season.
The situation got bad to worse for Sunderland after Sebastian Larsson was given the marching orders for a high challenge on Ander Herrera, although many feel that the decision was harsh on him.
United doubled the lead through Henrikh Mkhitaryan who scored immediately after the break, and killed off the tie completely.
Marcus Rashford scored the final goal of the match, his first Premier League goal since the 24th September 2016, to earn a deserved victory for the visitors.
Sunderland fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment with their manager, David Moyes, with many demanding the former Manchester United manager to be sacked immediately. Check out some of the tweets:
