Tottenham Hotspur were said to be leading the chase for exciting Brazilian winger Malcom but could they miss out?

The Bordeaux winger’s agent hinted a Premier League transfer could be on the cards with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino vying for his signature back in January.

But a move never materialised and Malcom was said to have been upset with the fallout affecting his form for the Ligue 1 side.

Malcom got back to his best form and finished the season by helping Bordeaux into the Europa League which only served to impress Spurs further still.

Bayern Munich and Arsenal were also credited with a very real interest in the star.

But a report from French media outlet Get Football News France suggested at the weekend Malcom would prefer England and Tottenham as they can offer Champions League football.

However there could be a spanner in the works for Spurs after well-placed Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed Inter Milan – who are back at Europe’s top table next season – are set for talks with Malcom.

“Inter are serious about trying to get Brazilian winger Malcom,” Di Marzio said on his own website.

“A meeting between Bordeaux president and the player’s agent is ongoing in Milan to discuss a possible move for the Brazilian.”

According to Di Marzio the French club have set very high asking price on Malcom’s head wanting £43 million including add-ons which may have swayed any deal in Tottenham’s favour.

But that has not put Inter off with the nerazzurri seriously trying to reinforcement coach Spalletti’s squad according to Di Marzio.
