Celtic fans have responded to Ryan Christie’s opening goal with delight and relief that none of them said anything remotely negative about him prior to kick-off.

The attacking midfielder put his side 1-0 up against Hearts in this afternoon’s Scottish Cup Final with a superb curling effort after 19 minutes.

It’s a goal that moves Neil Lennon’s men one step closer to securing a historic quadruple treble.

Christie’s inclusion in the starting XI could have raised eyebrows, but Celtic fans on social media were backing the 25-year-old all along.

Here’s how some of the Celtic faithful have reacted to that crucial opener.
