Speaking on US TV station ESPN, Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has given his view on how likely Liverpool are to win the Premier League title.

The Reds are in brilliant form, and in any other era they would be running away with the league.

However, sadly for the Merseyside club, they’re pitted up against Pep Guardiola’s incredible Manchester City side.

Klopp’s Reds are trailing City by nine points, but if they win their game in hand, that gap will be reduced to six.

Despite there being such a gap, Nicol believes Liverpool have a 25% chance of winning the league.

What’s been said?

The pundit gave his view on Liverpool’s title chances.

“In Don’s absence, Steve, what percentage of a chance do Liverpool have of winning the title this season? Given the current points difference with Manchester City and the game still in hand?” The host asked.

“25 per cent,” Nicol said.

Chance

Liverpool aren’t the favourites for the league title, but they do have a chance.

As Southampton showed last month, Manchester City aren’t invincible, and a couple of losses from the Cityzens would again put the Reds in the driver’s seat.

Factor in that the two teams also have to play each other again this season, and you can see just how tight this title race could end up being.

Write off Liverpool at your peril.
