According to 90Min, Leeds United are amongst the clubs who have enquired about signing Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.

The Scottish midfielder has fallen out of favour at Manchester United after the arrival of Casemiro from Real Madrid, and now, a number of Premier League clubs are sniffing a chance to sign the defensive midfielder.

Among the clubs keen on McTominay are Leeds United, and it doesn’t take a genius to understand why Leeds may be fans of the Manchester United man.

Indeed, a number of the midfielder’s career-best performances have actually come against Leeds.

The Scot’s form was best summed up by LeedsLive’s Conor McGilligan last year, after the Red Devils, once again, dismantled the Whites.

“We didn’t really set up defensively at all, and McTominay turns into Zidane against us every single time,” he said.

Of course, it is a bit hyperbolic to compare McTominay to the great Zinedine Zidane, but it has to be said that his performances against Leeds over the years have been nothing short of sublime.

He’s never lost a game he’s played against the Yorkshire club, while he’s registered two goals and one assist in games against Leeds in the past.

For some reason or another, playing against Leeds seems to bring the best out of McTominay, and if the Whites can sign the player and cultivate that level of form on a weekly basis, they will have a superstar on their hands.

Of course, getting those sorts of levels out of McTominay on a weekly basis will be difficult, but there just seems to be something in the water at Elland Road that gets McTominay playing to a level that you very rarely see from the Manchester United star.
