Liverpool fans were mightly impressed by Jacob Ramsey’s performance as Aston Villa comfortably beat Norwich City 2-0 at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.

Just over a month into Steven Gerrard’s tenure, not many will be surprised to see that the midfielders in his team are balling under his stewardship.

Academy product and boyhood Villa fan, Ramsey, is no different and he showcased that last night by scoring a stunning solo goal.

Running from inside his own half and into the opposition’s box, the 20-year-old unleashed a rocket with his left foot to put Villa 1-0 ahead in the first half, before Ollie Watkins sealed the points late in the second.

Liverpool fans are liking what Ramsey is producing under Gerrard and how he can transform his ball-carrying ability to another level.

The Reds supporters were also impressed with the goal he scored at Carrow Road, which was his second of the campaign, after he netted his first under Dean Smith earlier on in the season.

It was a night for Villa’s youth yesterday because, alongside Ramsey, Carney Chukwuemeka also came off the bench to impress once again, this time by laying down a quite brilliant assist for Watkins to tap home at the far post.

Another midfielder who is probably in dreamland in training every day because he gets to work alongside one of the best midfielder’s to have ever graced the game.

And not only are the midfield players showcasing their worth under Gerrard, but the whole team is producing strong performances and results.

After six games in charge, Gerrard has won four, with both of his defeats coming against Manchester City and Liverpool – both of them by one-goal margins.

As things stand, Villa are sitting ninth in the Premier League table and they will be pushing for those European spots under Gerrard because he has made quite the start to life in B6.
