Newcastle want Jota but winger should stick around at Brentford.
Brentford’s Jota celebrates after the match
Brentford are fighting to retain the services of Spanish playmaker Jota, who enjoyed a sensational spell back at Griffin Park earlier this year.
Bees chief executive Mark Devlin told SkySports that they are confident of keeping Jota despite interest of Premier League clubs.
He said: “As far as we are concerned, Jota will be playing his football at Griffin Park next season.”
Jota is valued at £8 million and Spanish newspaper AS report Newcastle United are interested.

Linking up with Champions League winning boss Rafa Benitez, his compatriot, will of course be hugely tempting as will playing in the Premier League.
Yet Jota has recently learned the grass is not always greener, with a loan spell at Eibar which ended badly.
His dream move to La Liga didn’t work out, playing in only 20 games in one-and-a-half seasons before heading back to west London.
He made only five appearances without scoring last season before returning, and exploded into life back at Brentford.

Jota scored 12 goals and provided five assists in the second half of the campaign, form which has attracted Newcastle’s attention.
Even if Brentford were open to a sale, Jota might just be better off sticking where he is.
After so much upheaval over the past few seasons, there’s something to be said for a player enjoying playing his football.
He is getting that at Brentford where he is revered as a fan favourite, and if he continues performing, more chances to move will one day come for the 26-year-old.
The success of unfancied Huddersfield last season might just be enough to inspire him to try and achieve similar results by sticking around and carrying on where he left off at Brentford.
