Michael Owen told Premier League Productions (22/08/21 at 1:25 pm) that Harry Kane might now ‘turn into the nasty guy’ in order to force a move out of Tottenham.

The England captain was back in Tottenham colours on Sunday when his side recorded a 1-0 win at Wolves.

Kane came off the bench for Heung-Min Son after weeks of speculation surrounding his future in North London.

There’s not long left until the summer transfer window slams shut and it seems as though Daniel Levy is going to stay firm in keeping his star man in North London.

But Owen thinks Kane might now need to ‘break from his character’ and force a move to Manchester City.

“It all depends on how desperate he is to leave,” said Owen. “Once you make your mind up, if someone starts questioning it or saying you can’t go, it makes you want to go even more.

“You start becoming stubborn. I said right from the outset. I mean I laughed when it was said that ‘Harry Kane wants to sort this before the Euros’. This move was never in a million years going to be sorted out straightaway. It’s going to go right to the end.

“Sadly, and it is sadly, Kane doesn’t want this to happen but he is going to have to turn into the nasty guy to get the move.

“If he wants to get the move then he has to break from his character. He is going to have to down tools. Do whatever it takes and say ‘I am never going to play for this team again if you don’t let me move’.”

The only thing Spurs fans will look at is the return of Kane and the fact that he is back playing in their colours.

In his absence, Nuno has done pretty well to steady this previously sinking ship that was well in trouble way before he was handed the keys to the club.

Nuno’s life will be a lot easier if Kane is still in North London, and it seems as though that is going to be the case.
