Simon Jordan has stated that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel can afford to ‘marginalise’ his players if they have contract disputes, but Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta can’t, as he told talkSPORT.

The former Crystal Palace owner was making reference to Andreas  Christensen’s situation at Chelsea and Eddie Nketiah’s at Arsenal.

Both players are out-of-contract next summer and it seems as though they could be heading for the exit door of their respective London clubs as free transfers.

Nketiah came off the bench for the Gunners on Monday night and missed a guilt-edge opportunity, as his side suffered a costly 2-1 defeat at Everton.

Jordan was asked why Nketiah’s was brought on by Arteta given the rumours about him and how it compares to Chelsea’s man at the back.

“There is a different dynamic to that one because Christensen has got himself in a situation where he is not walking the talk,” said Jordan.

“He said he is going to do something and then doesn’t do it. Then, Tuchel being Tuchel can say ‘I can marginalise you because I have the ability to do so’.

“Arteta doesn’t have the same dynamic, so you can only manage what’s in front of you. I go down the route of agreeing that it’s not good enough.”

In truth, Nketiah isn’t showcasing the performances that indicate that he is deserving of a new deal at the Emirates, anyway.

Arsenal aren’t going to miss out on much if he does leave for a free transfer because his goals aren’t saying much because there aren’t any of late.

But there are bigger worries than the Hale-End academy product, with one of them being the captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Whilst Nketiah should have scored that near-post header at Goodison Park, Aubameyang’s scuffed shot in stoppage-time on Monday night, from five yards out, just summed up his situation at the club.
