Bournemouth supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on speculation suggesting winger Marc Hugh is set to join Championship side Hull City on loan until the end of the campaign.

A report in the Hull Daily Mail claims the Tigers have agreed a deal to land the Bournemouth man and they hope to conclude their first signing of the transfer window in the next 24 hours.

Pugh has made just three appearances this season, twice in the Carabao Cup and once in the FA Cup – scoring his side’s only goal of the game as the Cherries were beaten 3-1 at home by Brighton and Hove Albion.

Still, the 31-year-old remains a popular figure at Dean Court and Bournemouth supporters have taken to Twitter to let Hull fans know they are set to have a very decent player on their hands.

Pugh was instrumental during Bournemouth’s promotion to the Premier League during the 2014/15 campaign, scoring nine goals and grabbing five assists.

He has since made 42 Premier League starts for the south coast club but, with just 11 starts last term, it seems his influence at Bournemouth is on the slide and his contract is set to expire in the summer.

Hull are currently on an excellent run of form, drawing their last game at Aston Villa after previously racking up six straight league wins to put them on the periphery of the Championship play-offs.

Manager Nigel Adkins will be hoping to strengthen his side this month, and the arrival of Pugh could give the Tigers the option to play either Jarred Bowen or Kamil Grosicki through the middle.
