Wolverhampton Wanderers have taken Raul Jimenez on loan for the season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Benfica striker Raul Jimenez on a season-long loan with the Mirror reporting that the deal will cost the newly-promoted club a mere £4.5 million.

Considering the player’s ability and his popularity back in Mexico, Wolves have pulled one of the deals of the summer and they could actually make money off of his impending switch to Molineux.

Jimenez is first and foremost a top-quality striker who will improve Wolves’ first-team and ultimately their chances of establishing themselves in the Premier League at the first attempt.

The 27-year-old knows how to find the net, hitting double figures in two of his past three seasons for Benfica in all competitions while averaging one in three games over the course of his career.

Wolves will look to make an impression on their return to the Premier League, and their ability to find the net on a regular basis could be the difference between a top half finish and looking nervously over their shoulder.
