West Ham United host Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.
West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini says upcoming opponents Wolverhampton Wanderers have not changed their ways from last season and play exactly the same against every team, whufc.com reports.
Both teams head into the encounter at the London Stadium looking for their first Premier League victory of the campaign, with West Ham losing all three of their opening matches while Wolves have drawn two and lost one.
Despite heading into the match win-less on their return to the top flight, the mood at Molineux is positive after Wolves held champions Manchester City to a 1-1 draw last time out.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Hammers boss Pellegrini admits he has been impressed by Wolves and suggests their fearless playing style is a compliment of their manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
“I’ve seen the three games they’ve already played, and they are a team that believe in what they do, and they are continuing in the same way that they did last season,” Pellegrini told West Ham’s official website.
“I think the team must play in the way they work every day and Wolverhampton seem to play against every team in the same way. That’s the merit of their manager.”
Wolves romped to the Championship title last season with the aid of their link-up with super-agent Jorge Mendes, and they have continued to strengthen this summer with players such as Joao Moutinho arriving at the club.
West Ham also significantly strengthened their squad during the summer transfer window, signing attacking talents Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko among other big names.
It will take a while for West Ham’s new signings to gel, whereas the bulk of Wolves’ squad has been playing under manager Nuno for over a year now and are up to speed with the demands of English football.
The west Midlands club will seek all three points from their encounter with Pellegrini’s side, and their attacking endeavour may pay off if the Hammers are below par on Saturday.
