Crystal Palace’s Wayne Hennessey could be an ideal signing for West Ham United.

According to a report in the Mirror, Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has been offered a new deal at the club, but apparently on reduced terms.
The 31-year-old’s current deal at Selhurst Park is set to expire this summer. After talks previously broke down, it appears Crystal Palace are only willing to keep him with a less attractive package.
It’s a bizarre situation, as Hennessey has largely been a regular for Crystal Palace over the past few seasons, starting 27 Premier League matches last term.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers ace has proven himself to be a decent number one at the top level of English football, and at 31 he is arguably coming into the peak of his career.

West Ham have a complicated goalkeeping situation with loan star Joe Hart failing to impress, and Adrian has also shown frailties when called upon.
West Ham certainly need to buy a new number one this summer and Hart’s heft weekly wage of more than £100,000 per week (Spotrac) doesn’t make him a particularly enticing option. And that’s not evening mentioning Hart’s erratic form.
Hennessey would cost less in wages, and West Ham could certainly offer him a better deal than Crystal Palace if Roy Hodgson’s men are only willing to extend his deal on reduced terms.

And his deal set to expire this summer, Hennessey wouldn’t cost West Ham a penny in terms of a transfer fee. It’s surely a potential no-brainer.
West Ham need to be looking at signing younger players with huge potential to establish themselves in the top ten, but Hennessey, a player entering his peak years, surely makes some sense.
