West Bromwich Albion’s James Morrison has suggested he would consider a switch to Celtic in January of his current situation in the West Midlands doesn’t improve, Herald Scotland report.

The Scotland international was heavily linked with a move for Celtic towards the end of the transfer window and reports from Herald Scotland claim an enquiry was put forward to the Baggies.

Morrison ultimately remained at the Hawthorns, yet he has not featured in boss Tony Pulis’ plans this season and he admits he would have considered moving had his club given him the go ahead.

“Obviously, I am not playing at my club at the moment and there was an enquiry. But the club said no. With my position at the minute I would definitely have considered it,” Morrison told Herald Scotland.

When pushed as to whether the situation could resurface in the January transfer window, the Premier League midfielder suggests a switch to Celtic Park could be possible if he remains out of the picture at West Brom.

He added: “January is a long time away, but I would have to seriously consider my position at the club if I am not playing. I will have to look at it. I haven’t had a chance to play in many games.”

The former Middlesbrough man suffered with injuries last season and featured just 18 times in the Premier League, with boss Tony Pulis mostly favouring other players.

With the likes of Nacer Chadli joining the Baggies in the transfer window, Morrison could see his chances of first-team actionat the Hawthorns even more limited raising further doubts over his future.

The Hoops have strengthened their squad this past summer, yet a player of Morrison’s ability would be welcomed at Celtic Park as the club aim for a sixth straight Scottish Premiership title.
