Arsenal lost 3-2 at Manchester United last season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks dejected
Arsene Wenger has named Arsenal’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester United last season as among his worst ever moments in charge of the Gunners, he told Thierry Henry on Sky Sports Super Sunday.
The French boss recently celebrated 20 years in charge of the North London club and during his tenure there have been major highs, such as winning the league title unbeaten, and also some real lows.
Defeats such as the 8-2 loss at United and the 6-0 defeat at Chelsea must rankle among his side’s worst performances, yet Wenger instead looks back at another defeat when quizzed on his worst moment.

“One of the worst moments was last year when we lost at Man United, because it was the moment where you felt the Championship was lost. It’s a game we couldn’t afford to lose,” Wenger told Sky Sports.
“We had to win it but I felt that more than losing the game, we were just not at the races on the day.”
Arsenal lost 3-2 at Old Trafford last term, but what made defeat even more disappointing was the fact that Leicester City maintained a five-point gap at the top of the Premier League table.

With United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City vastly underperforming last term, many felt it was Arsenal’s best chance of winning the title since their last league success 12 years ago.
The North London club had plenty of quality in their ranks, yet a failure to perform at key moments ultimately let them down and the defeat to Louis van Gaal’s United was a demoralising moment.
Leicester went on to profit from the usual title challengers’ diastrious campaigns to remarkably win the league title with two games to spare, while Arsenal ended up finishing in second spot some 10 points adrift.
