Derby County beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at Hillsborough Saturday.

Derby County supporters have taken to Twitter to praise striker Jack Marriott, after he scored one and assisted the other in the Rams’ come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday Saturday.
Owls winger Adam Reach gave the hosts a deserved early lead as they dominated proceedings, but Derby turned the game on its head before the break with Harry Wilson and Marriott grabbing the goals.
Marriott joined Derby in the summer for a reported fee of around £3 million (Sky Sports), and his performances over the past six weeks would suggest that Frank Lampard has picked up an absolute bargain.
Taking to Twitter after the game, Derby fans were full of praise for their in-form striker:
Victory for Derby leaves them in the Championship playoff slots, five points off leaders Norwich City, with east Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest just behind them following their 2-0 win at Hull City.
Marriott’s importance at Derby is growing by the week. Beyond the former Luton Town man, Derby only have 33-year-old David Nugent with Martyn Waghorn preferred in a wide right role.

With six goals and three assists in his last nine games in all competitions, 24-year-old Marriott is currently rivalling any other striker outside the Premier League. Lampard’s side travel to Stoke City in midweek, where they will face former Derby manager Gary Rowett in one of the most-anticipated clashes of the Championship calendar.
