Crystal Palace drew 1-1 with Everton on Friday night.

Former player Jamie Redknapp believes Crystal Palace’s addition of Andros Townsend was better than Everton’s signing of Yannick Bolasie during the summer, he told Sky Sports Friday Night Live on 30 September at around 19:40.
Ahead of Everton’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, pundits such as Thierry Henry and Jamie Redknapp were analysing the potential key battles and duo Bolasie and Townsend heavily featured.
Palace signed Townsend from Newcastle United after activating his release clause, yet they were unable to partner him with Bolasie for long as the Dr Congo international traded Selhurst Park for the Toffees.

Bolasie joined Everton for a reported £25 million plus add-ons (the BBC), while Townsend joined Palace earlier in the transfer window for around half of that amount according to ESPN.
When quizzed on who got the better deal, Redknapp edged towards Palace’s acquisition of Townsend.
“You’d have to say financially Palace with Townsend [got the better deal},” Redknapp told Sky Sports Friday Night Live. “Bolasie for £25m is an awful lot of money but they’ve both got real talent.
“Townsend is a player I really like, he’s got tremendous ability. He can be a little greedy, some call it selfish but I call it single-minded and I think that’s what he adds to this team. I think he’s a really good signing.”

Townsend, 25, has started the past few games for Palace on the opposite flank on the left side, a tactic which has enabled him to cut inside and pose a threat at goal via long-distance shots.
The former Newcastle man has averaged an impressive 3.4 shots and 3.3 successful take-ons per league game this season, yet with just one goal to his name there is room for improvement.
Palace’s 1-1 draw with Everton left the Eagles in eighth spot in the Premier League table, while Everton are currently in fourth and two points behind Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
