Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with several players ahead of the summer.

With the summer just around the corner, Tottenham Hotspur fans have plenty of reason to be excited ahead of next season as on current form there are no better teams in the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino has put together a side capable of challenging on major fronts, with the FA Cup still a possibility this term, but two or three more players could take them to a new level altogether.
Here we look at a best XI set of players who have been linked with Spurs this season, and which players could make the biggest difference to the squad should they move to White Hart Lane this summer.

GK: Dean Henderson (Mirror): The England U21 has been linked with a host of clubs including Spurs, and he’s certainly one for the future. The Manchester United man is out of contract in the summer and could be a potential bargain in the future. 5/10
RB: Nordin Mukiele (Le10sport). Spurs have reportedly sent scouts to watch the 6ft 1inch defender recently, and they aren’t the only major club looking at signing the Montpellier man. Nordin can play either at centre-back or right-back, and it’s likely he will be available for a reasonable price. 6/10
CB: Jonathan Tah (Mirror): Tottenham may well need to replace Toby Alderweireld this summer, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Tah is said to be a potential option. The German defender is having an excellent campaign in the Bundesliga, and at 22 he has bags of potential. 7/10
CB: Benjamin Pavard (The Sun): Another centre-back linked with Spurs is Stuttgart’s Pavard, rated at £11 million. He could be a cheaper option than Tah, though in his first season in the Bundesliga he lacks experience. 6/10

LB: Luke Shaw (Daily Star): The Manchester United fullback has had a hard time of it under boss Jose Mourinho, and Ashley Young’s form despite his age has limited Shaw to a bit-part player. Undoubtedly one of the best left-backs in the Premier League on talent, he could be perfect under Pochettino at Spurs. 8/10
CM: Andre Gomes (The Sun): Barcelona’s Andre Gomes has struggled at the Nou Camp since his move from Valencia, and the 24-year-old has been tipped for a switch to England. He’s talented, but his lack of pace and tackling ability may not suit Pochettino’s pressing style. 5/10
CM: Abdoulaye Doucoure (The Sun): The 25-year-old only joined Watford last summer, but a terrific campaign for the Mali ace has seen him linked with a £40 million move to Spurs. Pochettino knows he will need a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele, but for such a price it’s certainly a risk. 6/10

LW: Ryan Sessegnon (Daily Mail): Fulham’s 17-year-old wonderkid has been a sensation this season, scoring 14 goals and grabbing a further six assists in 41 Championship games. Sessegnon has years ahead of him, but he already looks like a Premier League player. A must-buy for Spurs. 10/10
AM: Gareth Bale (Express): Gareth Bale has long been linked with a return to England as his Real Madrid career stutters, and Tottenham are probably now able to bring him back to White Hart Lane. He wouldn’t come cheap, however, and would a return see Christian Eriksen or Dele Alli pushed aside and the wage structure broken? 7/10
RW: Malcom (Telegraph): The 21-year-old can play across the attacking midfield positions, and he possesses bags of ability. Nine goals and six assists in 27 league games for France, he will surely move this summer. Spurs could do with more options up top, and the Brazilian represents a sound option. 8/10
ST: Anthony Martial (RMC): Martial is another who has struggled at United under Mourinho, but at Spurs under Pochettino he could be a frightening prospect. The France international could play wide left or upfront, and with bags of pace, power and trickery he just needs a manager to back him. 9/10
