Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.

According to the latest reports in the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is targeting summer moves for Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt and Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.
The report claims that the Argentine boss will step up his plans to sign the trio after being given the green light for a summer spending spree after agreeing a new five-year contract at the club.
Tottenham have over the years adhered strictly to a transfer policy which sees them bring in top young players, develop them accordingly and if the opportunity comes along, sells them on for huge profits.
The likes of Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Kyle Walker have all left in big-money deals while the overall squad has strengthened, and it seems Pochettino is keen to continue such tradition.

Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt and Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon are two of the biggest prospects currently on the market in world football and signing them both would be a real coup for Spurs.
But has the time arrived for Spurs to stop focusing on potential and buy for the here and now? Sessegnon and de Ligt could be world class in four or five years’ time – but what about now?
Pochettino’s side have finished in the top three for the past three seasons in succession, yet they’ve fallen just short when it comes to silverware and buying top quality players now could make that telling difference.
Manchester United’s Martial is currently at a much higher level than de Ligt and Sessegnon, and he is the type of player who could walk into Spurs’ best XI today and ultimately improve it.

The France international can play as a left forward or deputise for Harry Kane, therefore his versatility is a big plus but more importantly is his current ability and how he could take Spurs to the next level.
As such, Pochettino must prioritise his current best eleven, even if it means compromising their current wage structure as Martial’s salary of £110,000 per week (Spotrac) would make him Tottenham’s highest earner.
With Tottenham moving into their new stadium, reaching that next level in terms of landing silverware will require an injection of quality and to do so they must push the boundaries if they are to achieve that goal.
