Ipswich Town’s Freddie Sears has suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

Ipswich Town supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on the club’s official news that forward Freddie Sears will be out of action for nine months after picking up a cruciate ligament injury.
The Tractor Boys have endured a tough season so far, rooted to the bottom of the Championship and staring relegation in the face following their latest 3-0 defeat at local rivals Norwich City.
Sears has been one of only a few bright sparks for the Suffolk club this term, scoring six goals and grabbing four assists in 21 Championship starts despite his side’s struggles.
But his latest injury is a cruel blow to a player in fine form and another setback in Ipswich’s fight for survival. Taking to Twitter, some supporters feel that could be the final nail in their coffin.
Sears started the encounter at Carrow Road on Sunday but was withdrawn just before half-time, with Norwich leading the contest thanks to an early goal from Onel Hernandez.

Paul Lambert’s side have struggled for goals all season, finding the net just 23 times in 31 games, becoming the second lowest scorers in the Championship ahead of fellow strugglers Bolton Wanderers.
With Sears injured, Ipswich are now going to have even less of a goal-scoring threat up front and, with nine points separating them from safety, it leaves them with a massive uphill task in their bid for Championship survival.
