Norwich City’s Steven Naismith is currently on loan at Hearts.

Norwich City supporters have taken to Twitter to have their say on Steven Naismith’s comments about not returning to Carrow Road once his loan spell is up at Scottish Premiership side Hearts.
“As a club, they’ve moved on – and they’re flying as well, which is good to see. There has been a big change there. I am, unfortunately, part of the past there,” Naismith told Edinburgh News.
“In the last week or so it’s been more brought up (signing permanently for Hearts) but I’ve not thought about anything, even the fact that I’ll be on a free transfer in the summer.”
Naismith originally joined Norwich from Everton in January 2016 for a reported fee of £8.5 million (BBC), but despite his best efforts he couldn’t help the Canaries retain their Premier League status.
The Scotland international as since struggled in the Championship, and after scoring just a total of six league goals for the club, he joined Hearts on a season-long loan deal in January with question marks over his future.
Naismith’s contract at Norwich expires next summer, and following his latest comments about his future, some supporters are content to see the forward depart Carrow Road for good:
The 31-year-old made over 100 Premier League appearances for Everton, but he rarely showed his qualities in Norwich colours and an ankle ligament injury last term seemingly saw him lose a yard of pace.

Naismith’s spell at Hearts so far is going very well, with the club surprisingly topping the Scottish Premiership, and the Norwich-owned forward topping the club’s scoring charts with seven league goals in ten games.
Norwich, meanwhile, are currently in a Championship playoff slot, with summer signings Teemu Pukki and Jordan Rhodes firing the Canaries towards a potential promotion challenge.
