Ipswich Town’s Teddy Bishop has signed a new contract with the club.

Ipswich Town supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on the offical club website’s announcement that Teddy Bishop has signed a new contract with the club. The youngster has penned a two-and-a-half-year extension.
Bishop has been at Ipswich since he was seven years of age and came through the club’s youth system, impressing for the U23s before establishing himself in the senior first-team squad.
The 22-year-old is predominantly a midfield player. He broke through under former manager Mick McCarthy during the 2014/15 campaign, although injuries have restricted his appearances since then.
Ipswich also hold an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months, and fans are delighted that they’ve managed to secure the long-term future of one of their most promising young players.
Bishop has been side-lined with injury for most of the current campaign, but he returned to the team in the recent 1-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday, putting in a decent performance.

“Teddy is a very talented footballer and he’s got the opportunity now to stay fit and play games. We have to look after him but he’s made an impact in games and that’s what we want from him. He has to leave potential at the door now,” Lambert told the East Anglian Daily Times.
Ipswich return to Championship action on Sunday when they face rivals Norwich City at Carrow Road, with Bishop likely to keep his place in the starting eleven.
