Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam says West Ham United supporters expect to win every match and their demands could help the Potters pick up all three points this weekend, the club’s official website report.

West Ham have endured a frustrating start to the current campaign, and crowd trouble off the field and in the stands has prompted plenty of questions over their move to the Olympic Stadium.

The Hammers have always been a demandng bunch, and Stoke midfielder Adam feels their high expectations could aid the Potters in their bid for all three points this weekend.

“We are going there with confidence, and whilst they have picked up a bit I always feel that the first 20 minutes is important away at West Ham,” Adam told Stokecityfc.com.

“If their fans get a bit anxious and get on their players backs a little bit, which they can do because they are West Ham and they expect to win every week, then there are opportunities.”

“We are the away team, they will have to come at us and we will be looking to catch them on the counter-attack and hopefully win the match.”

Stoke head in to the encounter with West Ham havng recorded three wins in succession, lifting the Midlands side out of the relegation zone and safely in to midtable.

Slaven Bilic’s men, on the other hand, lost 2-0 at Everton last Sunday and that defeat at Goodison Park left them in a lowly 17th position with ten points from their opening ten matches.

After such an impressive campaign last year, many West Ham supporters were hoping for another top four push this season but injuries to key players and some defensive woes have left them well off the pace.
