Stoke City have been linked with Ramadan Sobhi.
Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has told reporters that his side are hopeful of concluding a deal for highly-rated winger Ramadan Sobhi in the coming days, Sky Sports report.
The Potters are intent on adding to their squad this summer as they look to improve on three consecutive ninth place finishes in the Premier League.
While Hughes will be trying to bring in some big-named players to go along with the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Bojan Krkic and Ibrahim Afellay, their intentions for Sobhi are very much with the future in mind.
The 19-year-old currently features for al Al Ahly back in his native Egypt, yet his impressive performances in North Africa haven’t gone unnoticed with Stoke boss Hughes hopeful of bringing him in.
“We are hoping that (deal) is going to be concluded quite soon,” Hughes told Sky Sports.
“I met him last night and he seems a very mature young man and we’ve got high hopes for him, so I’m very pleased he’s going to join us and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
“The Egyptian league isn’t an easy league, so he’s obviously capable of dealing with that aspect and I’m sure he will have an impact with us.”
Sobhi, despite his young age, has been capped six times by Egypt and netted his first international goal against Nigeria in a 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiying encounter.
Described as versatile and a willing runner, Sobhi offers plenty of speed, trickery and creativity in the final third and many back in Egypt feel he has the potential to become one of their best ever players.
