Liverpool face Manchester United on Monday in a huge Premier League clash.

Former player and current pundit Stan Collymore is backing Liverpool to defeat Manchester United due to their ability to move the ball around quicker and pose more questions, the Mirror reports.

The Reds host the Red Devils in what is without doubt the Premier League fixture of the weekend.

Liverpool head in to the encounter in superb form having won their last four league matches in succession and their last two matches at Anfield by 4-1 and 5-1 scorelines.

United, in contrast, have won just one of their last four matches and question marks are already being asked of Jose Mourinho’s men as their key players have so far struggled to click.

Writing in his column for The Mirror, Collymore recognises the importance of the upcoming game having been a former Liverpool player, and he is backing Jurgen Klopp’s men to pick up all three points.

“I don’t expect Liverpool to lose even by the odd goal. Instead, it will be a comfortable win,” Collymore wrote.

“Because they seem more up for it at the moment, they move the ball around more quickly than United and they ask more questions of their opponents. Their tempo will be key and, if United can’t withstand it, then I can see Liverpool going two up in double quick time.”

Liverpool have already played against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this season, and thus far their record against their fellow title contenders is nothing short of superb.

The Merseyside club have goals in them and United will have to be switched on and defend at their best in crucial moments in order to prevent the hosts from gaining the upper hand.

Mourinho and Klopp have met five times as managers, with the latter winning three of them.
