Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Youssef Msakni.

According to a report by ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are among the clubs rivalling French side Marseille for the signature of Tunisia international Youssef Msakni.
The attacking midfielder missed his side’s recent defeat with England after suffering a cruciate ligament injury prior to the World Cup, and his national team manager likened his absence to losing Lionel Messi.
Msakni has drawn comparisons with the Argentine superstar not just because of his importance to the national team, but because of his impressive goal scoring and assist record over the past 12 months.
The 27-year-old netted 25 times in 24 games for current side Al Duhail, while he also recorded as many as 15 assists in what was a stunning individual campaign for the attack-minded player.

Msakni has never played for a European club, but Spurs would be wise to take a gamble on him when taking into the account there are numerous factors which point to this being a good idea.
Tottenham are in need of bolstering their attacking options as beyond the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Heung-Min Son, there is a clear lack of depth in the squad to come on and alter proceedings.
Mauricio Pochettino must strengthen his attacking options if he seeks to finally end the club’s 10 year wait for silverware and adding Msakni to his ranks on a potentially cheap deal would help his cause.

The talented player is already approaching his peak years at 27 therefore Spurs won’t need to wait around for him to reach his potential – they would know what they’re getting right away.
Fellow interest from the likes of Marseille and Arsenal suggests he has done enough to warrant a move to one of Europe’s top leagues, and Tottenham are arguably the most desirable linked with his signature.
The north London club have little to lose by taking a gamble on him, and potentially everything to gain as the last north African attacker to move to the Premier League (Mo Salah) hasn’t been too shabby at all.
