Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ante Rebic.

According to the latest reports from Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla are close to signing Eintracht Frankfurt winger Ante Rebic for a bargain £19 million fee – a player linked with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Spanish editorial claim a deal could be completed within days, despite bigger clubs such as Manchester United and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich cited as having an interest.

Spurs are another linked with the 24-year-old winger, with German publication Bild recently highlighting their interest, while the Mirror reported his value at a whopping £44 million.

But it seems Rebic could be on the move for a fee much less than that, and at £19 million La Liga side Sevilla would be picking up a bargain following the player’s rise over the past 12 months.

Last season Rebic impressed as he netted nine goals and added a further three assists in the German top-flight, helping Frankfurt to a top half spot and a German Cup final victory over Bayern Munich.

The Croatia international further displayed his talents at the World Cup in Russia, netting in the 3-0 win over Argentina and helping his nation reach the final where they eventually lost 4-2 to winners France.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has yet to strengthen his squad this summer, but one area the club need to bulk up is in the attacking positions with the likes of Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura failing to impress last term.

Rebic would provide Spurs with a completely different option as he is direct, quick and hardworking. Importantly, though, he is at the right sort of age to be able to develop further at White Hart Lane.

With Sevilla seemingly stealing a march and closing in on the player, Spurs must move now though if they harbour any hopes of signing him as they could regret missing out on a potentially excellent deal.
