Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Norwich City’s Max Aarons.

Max Aarons of Norwich City scores a goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Norwich City and Rotherham United at Carrow Road on December 01, 2018 in Norwich, England.

According to a report in the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are extremely interested in Norwich City’s Max Aarons as they consider selling regular right-back Kieran Tripper this summer.

The report states that Spurs value Trippier at £20 million and could be ready to off-load him with Everton renewing their interest, while fellow right-back Serge Aurier is also considered for a summer exit.

In such a case, Spurs would be left with just Kyle Walker-Peters as their only right-back and boss Mauricio Pochettino will surely make a new defensive acquisition as his top priority.

Aarons has been linked with Tottenham over the past few months, with the Daily Mail claiming back in February that the North London club plan to step up their interest in him this summer.

The 19-year-old has been a standout in the Championship this season, breaking through into the Norwich starting XI ahead of former captain Ivo Pinto and going on to make 33 league starts to date.

Aarons has impressed onlookers with his energetic style of play and attacking qualities. He has contributed two goals while his five assists as a full-back is among the most productive in the Championship.

The Canaries are currently top of the Championship table with eight games to go. The Norfolk club will be desperate to get over the line and avoid potentially losing their better players this summer.

Aarons, along with Jamal Lewis and Ben Godfrey, have benefited from manager Daniel Farke’s insistence of utilising the club’s academy to fill out his squad and not many would have predicted such quick success.

Winning promotion to the Premier League will boost Norwich’s chances of retaining Aarons. However, with Tottenham’s financial pull and the offer of Champions League football, they would be tough to fight off regardless.
