Sheffield United supporters have responded to goalkeeper Dean Henderson’s message on Twitter, after the Blades drew 0-0 against Steel City rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Bramall Lane.

The Owls went to Bramall Lane looking to put an end to a dismal run of four straight Championship defeats, and they set their stall out to defend as manager Jos Luhukay named eight defensive-minded players.

Wednesday frustrated the Blades throughout, with goalkeeper Cameron Dawson saving David McGoldrick’s first-half penalty, and claimed a valuable point – keeping only their second clean sheet in all competitions this season.

Sheffield United shot-stopper took to Twitter after the game to thank fans for the atmosphere while claiming his side were unlucky not to win, and the Blades fans responded by mocking the Owls’ lack of attacking intent.

Sheffield Wednesday managed just 25% possession on the night, and they only tested Henderson once when he comfortably stopped an easy effort from Marco Matias in the final minute of normal time.

The Owls were set up to frustrate the hosts and were more than happy to take a 0-0 draw, but their lack of attacking intentions meant Henderson arguably had the easiest game he’ll ever have in his career.

Having said that, the Blades failed to make the most of their domination and, aside from an excellent save from McGoldrick’s penalty, Owls keeper Dawson also had a relatively trouble-free night.

The point keeps the Blades in the top six while victory for Preston North End sees Wednesday edge a little closer to the bottom, with just four points separating them from the Championship relegation zone.
