Middlesbrough are looking to sign Ipswich Town’s Martyn Waghorn. And some Derby County fans have expressed relief that the player isn’t on his way to Pride Park.

Some Derby County fans have taken to Twitter to have their say on Middlesbrough’s reported accepted bid for fellow transfer target Martyn Waghorn.
It has been well documented that the Rams were keen to sign the Ipswich Town forward this summer, but Sky Sports (citing Derby’s interest) have now reported that Middlesbrough have had a bid accepted.
Middlesbrough are seemingly intent on bulking up their attacking options, having recently sold Patrick Bamford to Leeds United, and Waghorn is said to have been identified by boss Tony Pulis as the striker he wants.
Sky Sports says that the Middlesbrough move is a blow for Derby boss Frank Lampard, but some Rams supporters feel they already have enough strikers at the club, with former Peterborough United ace Jack Marriott waiting in the wings.
Waghorn impressed for Ipswich last season, scoring 16 Championship goals, with 11 assists. He was absent from the Tractor Boys’ opening game of the season where they drew 2-2 at home to Blackburn Rovers.

Waghorn arrived at Portman Road only 12 months ago as he joined from Glasgow Rangers for a fee in the region of £250,000 (East Anglian Times), meaning Ipswich look set for a healthy profit this summer.
