Liverpool and Manchester City are among the Premier League title challengers this season.

Former player Phil Thompson says Liverpool have a great chance of winning the Premier League title but is sticking to his pre-season pick of Manchester City, Sky Sports report.
The Reds are currently in third position in the table heading into their fixture with Crystal Palace this weekend, joint on points with Arsenal and Manchester City at the top.
The top five are all separated by just one point after nine league matches, but most recognise Liverpool as having played the tougher matches and arguably the most impressive football of the lot.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Thompson suggest the Reds have a great chance this season if they keep their core players injury free but right now tips his pre-season favourites City to come out on top.

“Liverpool have as good a chance as most, but I stick with my pre-season prediction in making Manchester City favourites,” Thompson explained.
“I’m not sure our squad is as big as the likes of Arsenal and City, so we need to keep the core of the squad fit, the likes of Dejan Lovren, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane.”
“I would still think the squad needs strengthening a little bit.”
Liverpool’s Adam Lallana goes down injured
Liverpool certainly haven’t had any trouble finding the net this season with 20 goals thus far, however their defence has plenty of question marks over it with 11 conceded.
The Reds have managed just one clean sheet this season, coming in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United.
Many feel the lack of a natural left-back and experience at the heart of defence could prove a problem, though the lack of proper defensive midfield cover may turn out to be the club’s Achilles heel come next May.
