Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp says new Southampton signing Nathan Redmond was a bargain at £11 million and if sold tomorrow would be worth double that amount, he told Sky Sports.
Redmond arrived at Southampton from Norwich City in the summer transfer window following the Canaries’ relegation to the Championship.
Many felt the exciting forward may take some time to establish himself on the south coast, yet instead Redmond has immediately made an impression with three goals in nine Premier League starts.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Redknapp believes Southampton struck a bargain when signing the 22-year-old last summer and feels his price has already doubled at St. Mary’s Stadium,

“He (Nathan Redmond) has never been a striker before but he’s the one who sets the tempo, pressing from the front. He’s doing well with the ball, scoring three goals in nine games, but he’s also working extremely hard for the team,” Redknapp explained.
“They signed him for £11m in the summer but you could get twice that for him tomorrow. What a bargain!”
Redmond was tasked with coming in to a Southampton side who had just lost star player Sadio Mane to Liverpool, yet he hasn’t been phased by the challenge of replacing the Senegal international.

Claude Puel’s men are currently on a five-game unbeaten run and head in to this weekend’s encounter with Chelsea coming off the back of a 1-1 draw at league leaders Manchester City.
It will be a tough game for both sides, yet Redknapp is backing the Blues to edge an expected close encounter.
He added: “I reckon Chelsea will just edge it. It won’t be easy and Southampton’s excellent defence won’t give up many chances, but I’m going for a narrow win for Conte’s men.”
