West Ham United have made a poor start to the current campaign.
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic
Former player and current pundit Alan McInally has graded West Ham United’s start to the season as an E as he explains his disappointment in Slaven Bilic’s men thus far, Sky Sports report.
The Hammers had plenty of optimism heading into this season following their impressive campaign last year, the increased quality within the squad and of course the Olympic Stadium move.
However, West Ham arguably couldn’t have wished for a worst start, what with long-term injuries to key players such as Andy Carroll and Andre Ayew coupled with poor performances.
Despite winning their last two league matches, Slaven Bilic’s men still find themselves in a lowly 15th position and nine points off the top four owing to just one win in their opening seven matches.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Alan McInally suggests West Ham have been the most disappointing side this season considering their pre-season expectations.
“I’ve given West Ham an ‘E’ and that’s the worst I’m going to give any team. Disappointed. Dimitri Payet is fantastic but hasn’t done it yet. They’ve struggled as a team, struggled with injuries, Slaven Bilic is probably banging his head at the moment,” McInally explained.
“They had a wonderful result against Chelsea in the EFL Cup, but I thought this would be a season for West Ham – after last year – that they’d really cause problems. They haven’t. It’s not been good. The stadium continues to be a weight around their neck and it’s been a poor start.”

West Ham have bounced back of late and recorded victory over Chelsea to advance to the League Cup quarter-finals, yet crowd trouble made the headlines and only marred what was a superb win.
Bilic’s men have a long way to go before getting over their poor start to the season, starting this weekend with a trip to an out-of-form Everton side who haven’t won in four league matches.
